Victorians will again be able to save up to $125 on their dining and entertainment bills under the return of a popular voucher scheme.
The Eat, Play, Cash Back program relaunched on Monday after its initial run from March and aims to save punters money on restaurant meals, gigs and museum visits.
It allows customers to claim 25 per cent cash back when they spend $40 or more on a range of entertainment over spring and summer.
Eligible purchases include meals at restaurants, cafes and pubs, tickets to live music or art performances and entries into museums, galleries and amusement parks.
Customers can claim up to $125 cash back each and make multiple claims until they reach the cap.
Minister Industry Support and Recovery Ben Carroll said the scheme is aiming to entice Victorians to spend before the summer event season kicks in.
“Whether it’s booking a table for lunch or heading to a live music event, this cashback program puts money back into people’s pockets and supports hardworking businesses,” he said.
“This program also helps build business and consumer confidence, while supporting jobs and boosting the state’s economy.”
The first round of the program resulted in more than $32 million claimed in three months, with Hai Dai Lao, Dumpling Alley and Shanghai Red the most popular dining venues.
Trips to the cinema and to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Princess Theatre were the most popular entertainment choices for people after a discount.
The $25 million program is part of a $200 million Victorian Business Stimulus Package supporting local businesses and jobs.
It’s set to run until 16 December 2022 or when funds are exhausted.
