Heckenberg crash: Laila Moukhallaletti faces court on charge of concealing offence

A fifth person has fronted court on charges stemming from a devastating collision which killed a brother and sister at Heckenberg, in Sydney’s southwest.
Laila Moukhallaletti, 20, appeared before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday on the charge of concealing a serious indictable offence. No plea has been entered. The charge relates to the crash which killed Alina Kauffman, 24, and her 15-year-old brother Ernesto. Ms Kauffman had picked up her younger brother from his first job at Kmart when their car was involved in a collision with a Mercedes 4WD allegedly travelling at high speed on September 1.
The court has previously heard the alleged driver Johnson Kokozian, whose licence was allegedly suspended, fled the scene in another vehicle after the collision without checking on the dying siblings.
He was seen later that night on social media video eating KFC chicken and chips and joking with a mate, before handing himself into police. Moukhallaletti was accompanied by two female supporters and represented by her lawyer, Farzad Aria.
A representative of the Director of Public Prosecution took carriage of the case and requested for the matter to be heard at Campbelltown Local Court on November 11. The registrar granted the adjournment and said the bail conditions granted on September 18, including not accessing any social media apps or not possessing more than one mobile phone, were to continue. The 61-year-old father of Johnson Kokozian has been also charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering an investigation.
The girlfriend of Kokozian, Tiana Savignano and a friend of Kokozian, Cruz Pamoana Davis-Tuka, 21, have also been charged with conceal serious indictable offence and hinder investigation. Savignano has pleaded not guilty to all charges related to the crash, but entered a plea of guilty to using a recording device in court.
