A sandstorm has hit the Sakhir circuit ahead of this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
As the sport left Shanghai and headed for the Persian Gulf’s island Kingdom, the local meteorological bureau warned of high winds and the risk of a thick sand haze.
On Monday visibility was poor at the Sakhir circuit and the track, paddock and surrounding roads were covered in sand.
The conditions are not believed to have caused any flight delays, as was the case amid severe sandstorms a fortnight ago, for the thousands of F1 arrivals.
The second day of GP2 testing that took place in Bahrain earlier this month was delayed because another sandstorm had hit the circuit.
