An elderly man nearing his 100th year has been charged with sexually touching a 10-year-old girl.
Leonard Henry Forden, 99, is accused of touching the minor at Tweed Heads on December 14, 2021.
Forden has been placed on bail with a condition he cannot be in the company of any young person unless a responsible person is present.
Forden’s bail conditions state he is not to have any contact with the victim or anyone they have a domestic relationship with by any means.
The Tweed Heads man did not attend court in person, where his matter was heard in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions charge list.The case has been twice adjourned first on January 11 and again on October 14 at Tweed Heads Local Court.
The case has been adjourned this time for an application under mental health legislation.
The DPP is yet to indicate whether his case will be heard in the lower court or will be committed to the district court.
The case is set to return to the for committal on November 18.
