Husband of woman stabbed on Dover Heights doorstep faces gun charges

The wealthy property developer husband of a woman allegedly stabbed on the doorstep of her Dover Heights home has been charged with possessing a shortened gun.
Walt Coulston was hit with four weapon and ammunition charges this week after police allegedly found an unauthorised firearm inside his multi-million dollar home.
It comes just seven weeks after Coulston’s wife Helen was allegedly stabbed in the chest by his best mate Matthew Ramsay, who was later charged with trying to kill her.
Coulston, the managing director of real estate management and investment firm CK Property Group was charged with possessing a shortened firearm, possessing ammunition without a licence, not keeping a firearm safely and possessing an unregistered firearm.
Coulston did not respond to The Daily Telegraph’s request for comment.
He will face Waverley Local Court on October 11.
In an unrelated incident, Coulston was at work on August 8 when his wife was allegedly stabbed in the chest with a 20cm knife.
Waverley Local Court was told Ramsay, a well-known real estate agent, turned up at the Coulston’s cliffside home just after midday having not seen them for several months.
Wielding a knife, Ramsay then allegedly lunged at Mrs Coulston and stabbed her, before trying a second time but the court was told she managed to escape onto the street and scream for help.
Ramsay fled the scene and was arrested a short time later at Bondi Beach.
“I didn’t mean to hurt her, I only want to scare her,” Ramsay allegedly told police in an interview.
