Three people from the same family have been shot dead at a house in rural Queensland.
A man, his daughter and a young boy were found dead inside a low-set brick home by another daughter of the man, the Toowoomba Chronicle reports.
Police were called to a property at Biddeston, just outside Toowoomba, at about 7.20pm (AEST) after paramedics first got to the scene.
It is believed the woman who found the victims had gone to the house to check on the family’s dogs.
A neighbour told AAP the red brick bungalow belongs to a single-parent family with several children.
A police spokesman said a crime scene has been established at the home, on Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road, which is about 25km west of Toowoomba.
Specialist forensic officers are now combing the scene, which has been cordoned off by police.
Police are understood to be investigating the possibility of a murder-suicide, and say there is no threat to anyone in the area.
