Suicide bomb attack in Saudi mosque

Suicide bomb attack at Saudi mosque has killed at least one person and dozens injured.

The bomb attack took place at a Shia mosque in the southern city of Najran, in Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen.

Police found a letter by the bomber addressed to his parents confirming his intention of the attack, according to an interior ministry statement.

The Islamic State (IS) militant group claimed responsibility for this attack, saying in it’s social media posting that it had targeted the country’s Shia minority.

IS also claimed responsibility for two separate attacks which occured in May and August as well as Shiite mosques and places in other regional countries including Kuwait and Iraq in attempt to create sectarian strife.
