Egyptian security forces accidentally killed 12 people, including eight Mexicans, when they opened fire on a convoy of tourists in the country’s Western Desert on Sunday.
A group of 22 tourists were preparing to camp out in the Wahat area of the Western Desert when they were attacked by the Egyptian forces, the BBC reported.
