Sama El-Masry was accused of ‘offending’ Zamalek club president and lawyer Mortada Mansour
An Egyptian misdemeanour court has acquitted belly dancer Sam El-Masry of “offending Zamalek club president and lawyer Mortada Mansour” following a reconciliation between them, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The initial verdict handed to El-Masry was six months in jail and a fine of LE10,000.
El-Masry’s lawyer submitted papers to the court concerning the reconciliation following her apology to Mansour in the media.
A spat between the two controversial figures had been ongoing for a while.
Last year, Mansour filed a legal complaint against the dancer on charges of “spreading obscenity.”
The complaints come after El-Masry and Mansour exchanged crude allegations and threats in online videos and televised interviews in 2014.
