On televised news, Turkish’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was quick to announce that his government, especially security agencies detained and deported one of the Tuesday’s bombers to Belgium, but the officials in Brussels failed to take our warning seriously about the ISIL fighters returning home.
As a matter of fact, there are unclear concerns that many intelligences agencies all over the world would like to know about Belgian capabilities in handling its security threats and tracking ISIL fighters who are returning home from Syria and Iraq.
First, why and how the Belgian government officials overlooked Turkish’s information about the ISIL fighters, especially one of brothers named Ibrahim El Bakraoui whose the Turkish security forces detained and deported to Belgium?
Second, how the three bombers were able to get into the most secure airport in the heart of Europe and enter without detection despite heavy security forces presence, whether in plain uniforms or undercover. In addition to the security forces presence, where are sophisticated cameras in every corner of the airport, especially in the check points, where travellers line up for their final flights ?
Third and finally, what the wisdom with the Belgian government for NOT being able to share intelligence information on ISIL fighters with other European countries such as France, Britain, and especially, Turkish government that detained and deported ISIL members?
