Lebanon on right track with reforms: WB

(MENAFN) Lebanon is expected to witness an optimistic outlook as a result of reforms that it passed in this year’s state budget.

However, Vice President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa region Ferid Belhaj called for Lebanon to exert more efforts in its economic reforms.

According to the vice president, “Lebanon is doing well with its 2019 budget and the new electricity plan. We are optimistic about this but reforms should not end here.”

Belhaj assured that “it is a continuous effort and we will continue to help Lebanon in implementing the needed reforms especially in the electricity sector.”

He further sent an appeal for the Lebanese government to launch investment projects that the World Bank is financing.
