Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units launch stage 5 of Mosul offensive

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:05 P.M.) – The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) launched their 5th stage of the Mosul offensive on Friday, targeting the western part of this strategic city located in Iraq’s northwestern countryside.

According to the official wing of the Popular Mobilization Units, their forces liberated the villages of Al-Tafahah and Abu Nijaylah after a fierce battle with the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS) southwest of Tal ‘Afar.

Following the liberation of the aforementioned villages, the Popular Mobilization Units turned their attention to the final highway that links Tal ‘Afar to the Syrian border-crossing at Al-Qa’im.
