Direct flights resume from Adelaide to popular holiday destination

For the first time in three years, Fiji Airways will soon resume its twice-weekly direct flight from Nadi to Adelaide.
The international airline revealed on Wednesday the routes would return on July 4.
At the moment, Fiji Airways operates two flights daily out of Sydney and once-daily out of Melbourne and Brisbane.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen said the majority of tourists who visited Fiji came from Australia, so the service would be welcomed news for local travellers as well as the Fijian community.
Mr Viljoen said the increased fleets allowed to cater for demand out of Adelaide.
“We’re delighted to relaunch our fourth Australian route, which will allow us once again to bring our unique Fijian hospitality to South Australia, as well as offer local residents the opportunity to use Fiji as a gateway to other international destinations,” he said.
Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox said Fiji had always been a popular destination with South Australian travellers.
“We know there is significant pent-up demand for South Australians wanting to head overseas again, and Fiji Airways has recognised the strength of our market,” he said.
At present, only fully vaccinated people are permitted to enter Fiji and will need to show their proof of vaccination, travel insurance and a pre-booked rapid antigen test to be taken within 72 hours of their arrival.
Tickets are now available with return flights costing at least $649 per person for economy tickets or $2299 per person in business class.
To book, head to the Fiji Airways website or call the Fiji Airways Global Reservations Centre.
